Event Overview

Microsoft continues to invest in Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to provide IT professionals with a consistent, standards-based approach to accessing comprehensive system management information. This webcast provides a roadmap of improvements to WMI technologies in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista. We discuss both existing and new WMI troubleshooting tools, and explain how administrators of Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 and Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 can leverage the power of WMI. We also use demonstrations and examples to illustrate best practices related to WMI troubleshooting.

Presenter: Alain Lissoir, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft Corporation

Alain Lissoir is the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) program manager at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington. Alain spent 15 years working at Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, and most recently, HP.  He has extensive experience with directories, scripting, automation, and management technologies.
